Conservation has been central to our core mission since Bushtracks was established over 30 years ago. Our mission states, “With passion, knowledge and care, our team creates authentic conservation-minded travel experiences in Africa,” and our vision complements, “By introducing our guests to modern Africa in an authentic way, we evoke and inspire conservation of its wildlife, wild lands, and their communities.”

Our Into the WildLIFE series propels Bushtracks’ mission forward, with more effort to make a difference than ever before, and we are just getting started.  Congo Basin Discovery 2023 was the first success of the series; a journey to the “heart of Africa” where our travelers had impactful conversations with a gorilla research team, learned about the sustainable way of life of the nomadic Ba'Aka people and giggled at the sight of elephants spraying themselves golden in the muddy bais. Tourism income raised through this journey goes far in supporting Kamba African Rainforest Experiences, committed to creating extraordinary adventures in the Congo Basin, such as gorilla trekking and visiting Ba’Aka villages, that educate and uncover all there is to know about this untouched corner of the world. Their ultimate goal is to create a sustainable wild economy that defends this precious ancient ecosystem against external pressures while supporting the welfare of surrounding communities. As we look to our next trip in the series, Hands-On South Africa 2025, we make the same commitment to ensure our guests’ safari dollar is impactful. The cost of the safari includes all conservation levies and community fees that support impressive projects and organizations such as the Kwandwe Rhino Conservation Trust, Timbavati Leopard Project, foundation scholarships, elephant research, fire management and the reserves themselves.
