We journey to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Hampi, once one of the richest cities in India. Dotting a breathtaking landscape of undulating hills strewn with sandstone boulders, imposing ruins stand as visual remnants of this former center of the powerful Vijayanagara Empire. Explore Vittala Temple – known for its musical pillars – the 7th-century Virupaksha Temple, and Achyutaraya Temple, completed in 1534 and one of the last great monuments before the fall of the empire, as well as exquisite royal residences and civic buildings, and the once bustling bazaar.

Set on a hillside surrounded by a blue pine forest, Amankora Thimphu offers a peaceful escape, while providing convenient access to Thimphu’s attractions. The architecture is inspired by traditional Bhutanese dzongs, featuring whitewashed stone buildings and wood-paneled interiors.
Punakha, Bhutan
Travel overland to the ancient capital of Punakha, idyllically set at the confluence of the Pho and Mo Chhu rivers. Our scenic route takes us through the legendary Dochula Pass which crests at 10,300 feet above sea level, commanding spectacular vistas. In this valley rich in history and natural beauty, visit spiritual sites such as Khamsum Yuelley Namgyal Chorten, a temple designed to ward off negativity, and Chimi Lhakhang, the “Fertility Temple”. Cross the 590-foot Punakha Suspension Bridge and journey down the Mo Chhu River to the striking Punakha Dzong, a 17th-century riverside fortress. Share a breakfast with monks at Chorten Nyingpo Lhakhang, followed by the symbolic act of lighting butter lamps. For a culinary adventure, join a cooking class and prepare traditional dishes in the lodge’s interactive kitchen.

Paro is home to many of Bhutan’s oldest Buddhist structures. Tiger’s Nest, the iconic 7th-century monastery clinging to a cliff face at 3,000 feet above the valley floor, is for many the symbol of Bhutan. Accessible on foot only, choose to walk all the way to the monastery, or end at half-distance to relish stunning views from well-placed viewpoints. For a less adventurous option, tour an active nunnery, or stroll Paro town for sightseeing and shopping. Observe artisans as they create intricate sand mandalas – tools for meditation and spiritual practice – and visit Ta Dzong, a former watch tower that now serves as the National Museum, housing a rich collection of Bhutanese art and artifacts. We celebrate our journey together with a festive al fresco farewell dinner and say good-bye to new-found friends.

Guided by three pillars – protecting the environment, preserving indigenous culture, and sustaining local arts and crafts – her initiatives have revitalized livelihoods while safeguarding centuries-old traditions. A painter and visionary leader, Shama has been instrumental in preserving the cultural fabric of this UNESCO World Heritage landscape.

Dr. Raghu Chundawat is one of India’s leading tiger ecologists, renowned for his long-term research on the big cats of Panna National Park. Over more than two decades, his pioneering fieldwork has shaped scientific understanding of tiger behavior, ecology, and conservation challenges. He is the author of The Rise and Fall of the Emerald Tigers, a landmark account of Panna’s tigers and the complex forces affecting their survival. A dedicated scientist and conservation advocate, Dr. Chundawat continues to work at the intersection of research and policy, contributing to the preservation of India’s wildlife and wild landscapes.

His Eminence Mynak Trulku is the 12th reincarnate lama of Mynak Rinpoche from the historic Mynak lineage of what is now eastern Tibet. Residing in Bhutan for over four decades, he has served the Kingdom in distinguished roles, including founder and director of the National Museum in Paro and the National Library in Thimphu. He has represented Bhutan at numerous international and regional conferences on the nation’s cultural and spiritual heritage, sharing insights that bridge tradition and modernity. A revered scholar and teacher, Mynak Trulku will present a lecture on Bhutan and Buddhism, reflecting his lifelong commitment to preserving the Kingdom’s Buddhist and cultural legacy. Fewer than 0.0001% of the world’s population have stood on the 29,032-foot summit of the planet’s highest peak, and only about half of those who attempt the climb ever succeed. This seasoned high-altitude mountaineer has navigated the Himalayas’ most extreme challenges – from the treacherous Khumbu Icefall to the thin air of the death zone – on the way to standing at the very top of the world. Their perspective will offer a rare glimpse into the grit, resilience, and awe required to conquer Earth’s highest point. Details will be announced soon.

Timeless Lands
Participants must be able to climb into and out of private aircraft and safari vehicles un-aided. Also, they must be able to climb up and down stairs without a railing. They should be fully mobile (wheelchairs and walkers cannot be accommodated) and capable of walking moderate distances at an easy pace, at times over rough terrain, and be able to withstand four-wheel-drive vehicles that travel over dirt roads and sometimes rough, bumpy ground. Due to the high altitude of some of the destinations, a moderate level of fitness is recommended.
Our long-range private jet is reserved exclusively for this expedition and custom-fitted for your comfort. Within its refined cabin, dedicated attendants provide fine meals, drinks, and thoughtful service, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Traveling by private jet allows you to move swiftly between destinations, while VIP ground handling at every airport ensures each transition is smooth and stress-free.
With the transition from winter to spring, March brings a warming trend across our destinations. We designed the journey from south to north to keep the temperature comfortable as we progress. We will start with hot and dry days in India. Weather in Nepal will be pleasant with the potential for occasional rain showers. Bhutan climate varies greatly by altitude: it is subtropical in the lowlands and colder at higher elevations. Expect days in Bhutan to be mild, with chilly mornings and evenings. A detailed weather chart and packing list will be shared in the preparation documents.
