The UK has moved Kenya from its Red List to its Amber List in a move that will ease travel.

The decision which takes effect at 4 am on September 22, is part of a series of changes that will focus on vaccination status. Quarantine is still required for Kenyan arrivals until September 22nd. From September 22 Travellers from Kenya will be exempted from compulsory hotel quarantine, although they may be required to isolate for 10 days and take tests as detailed below. Note that vaccinations administered in African countries are not accepted.

All arrivals from Kenya:

  1. 3 days before your trip, take a COVID 19 test.

  2. Book and pay for COVID 19 tests to be taken after arrival in England

  3. Fill out the Passenger Locator Form.

If you have been vaccinated in the UK, Europe, or the United States:

  1.  You must do a COVID 19 test on or before day 2 after arrival.

If you haven’t been vaccinated in the UK, Europe, or the United States:

  1.  You must do a COVID 19 test on or before day 2 and day 8 after arrival.

  2. Quarantine at home or at the location where you are staying

  3. Under the test to release scheme, you may take an additional test on day 5.
