2017 Family Safari Recap, or What I Did on My Summer Vacation

In June 2017 Bushtracks welcomed 37 guests to East Africa on two departures of the Tanzania Family Safari. Take a look at the pictures shared by the travelers, and you’ll see that a good time was had by all ages: from grandparents to grandchildren, and everyone in between. You’ll also see that the friendships formed with the people they met along the way were as meaningful as the many wildlife sightings they enjoyed in the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater.

Getting ready to board our private aircraft and head to Manyara. It’s hard to say goodbye to the local guides we met along the way.

Game viewing in the Ngorongoro Crater — we never thought we’d get this close to an elephant!

Boating and fishing on the Rufiji River in the Selous. Our Bushtracks Ranger Leader, Laura, helped us get creative with ochre stencils when we had a few minutes to relax back at camp.

Exploring Stiegler’s Gorge located on the Rufiji River where a bush breakfast was waiting. With all the time you spend riding in a vehicle on safari, it feels good to get out and scramble on boulders. Our Family Safari let some of us be active, and others relax!
