Samburu National Reserve

Leopard Country

The Samburu people proclaim their presence and dominance of Kenya's northern frontier country with astonishing color, sporting scarlet robes and a proliferation of beaded necklaces and head-jewelry. You'll find some endemic and rather strange animals in Samburu National Park, like gerenuk 'giraffe-necked antelope', Grevy's zebras, whose stripes don't go all the way around, and perfectly patterned reticulated giraffes.
