Hwange National Park
Zimbabwe
Classic African Wildlife in an Uncrowded Park
Hwange has an atmosphere unlike anywhere else, created by a landscape of grasslands, mopane woodlands, salt-lick pans, and numerous waterholes (pumped during times of drought). There are huge herds of elephants, including big old bull tuskers, predators like lion, leopard and cheetah, and a better-than-average chance of seeing highly endangered wild dog, thanks to Painted Dog Conservation NPO.
