Next head to the beaches of Mozambique and various water-based activites. End your stay at Guludo Beach Lodge, a unique eco-tourism camp in the far north of Quirimbas National Park.

Days 7 - 10

Quirimbas Archipelago, Mozambique

This morning (day 7) take a scheduled air transfer to Vamizi Island. Vamizi Island lies just off the coast of northern Mozambique in the Quirimbas Archipelago. The Archipelago is made up of 32 coral islands with Vamizi being the crown jewel. Vamizi Island is 12 kilometres long and 2 kilometres wide.

The Island is surrounded by clear, bright turquoise and blue water, abundant with marine life and unbleached, untouched coral reefs. The main lodge ,situated on the north side of the island on the edge of thick coastal forests, looks out across a wide white beach onto the Indian Ocean beyond.

Vamizi Island is home to a great variety of flora and fauna. A myriad of trails will take guests through the coastal forest and along the beach, stopping off in deserted sandy coves for a cooling swim. On the way, look out for samango monkeys and giant coconut crabs ,as well as a multitude of forest and coastal birds. Estuary boat rides provide a different way to see the wildlife; the water beneath the boat is so clear that you can see all the fish and coral beneath you whilst meandering through the mangrove trees in search of kingfishers and green herons.
