Itinerary

Days 1 - 3

Mashatu Private Game Reserve

This morning after breakfast, board a commercial flight to Polokwane, South Africa. On arrival into Polokwane you will be met and trasnferred to Mashatu Game Reserve, a private reserve located in the remote eastern corner of Botswana. This enormous tract of land comprises a diverse wilderness of savannah, riverine forests, marshland, open plains and sandstone outcrops, and is home to seven of Africa's giants: the African elephant, the baobab tree, the eland, the ostrich, the kori bustard, lion, and giraffe. Mashatu Game Reserve also offers some of the most exciting safari game viewing in Africa, as well as historic and archaeological sites.

Lodging: Mashatu Main Camp

Days 4 - 5

Central Kalahari Game Reserve

Fly by private charter to the Central Kalahari Game Reserve in Botswana. Spend two days exploring the fossilized river bed and the fascinating wildlife treasures found in this wonderful area.
The landscape and topography consists of flat grasslands and undulating vegetated dunes teeming with a multitude of antelope species and large predators. This area is characterised by vast open grassy plains, seasonal pans, wooded acacia islands, prehistoric scrub-covered dunes and fossil riverbeds.

In the summer months (end-November to April), the rains ensure that the desert springs to life. Rather than game dispersing, these rains cause sprouting of short, palatable grasses on the pans systems and the fossil riverbeds such as Deception Valley. As a result plains game such as springbok, gemsbok and blue wildebeest concentrate in these areas and attract predators such as lion and cheetah. In the dry winter months game viewing remains productive as the herbivores move into the vegetated dunes and isolated pan systems surrounding the valleys. Kalahari Plains is located on one such pan and sightings of characteristic species remain good throughout the year.

Lodging: Kalahari Plains Camp

Days 6 - 8

Okavango Delta

Fly by private air to the Okavango Delta. Your classic Okagango Delta Camp offers both water and land activities. Mokoros (dug-out canoes) traverse the flood plains under the guidance of our experienced polers. Open 4x4 Land Rovers allow guests to get close to animals in the savannah areas.

Little Vumbura offers both water and land activities. Mokoros (dug-out canoes) traverse the flood plains under the guidance of our experienced polers.
