Situated on the spine of a jungle cloaked granite peak towering some 600 meters above an entrenched meander of the roaring river below, Machu Picchu is sometimes shrouded in misty clouds pierced by the powerful equatorial sun. Enjoy picturesque Andean scenery and spot traditional villages as your train travels from the Sacred Valley of the Incas up to Machu Picchu. Extend your Peruvian adventure with a 4-day visit to Lake Titicaca to enjoy the deep blue waters, natural beauty, and living culture of Lake Titicaca, the world's highest navigable lake.

Itinerary

Day 1

Lima

Arrive Lima. Transfer to Ramada Airport Hotel.

Lodging: Ramada Airport Hotel

Days 2 - 4

Urubamba Valley

Commercial flight to Cusco. On arrival in Cusco drive to the Urubamba Valley also known as the Sacred Valley of the Incas (elevation 8500 feet). Visit Pisac ruins and the local market in Pisac. The next day visit the town of Chincheros, a traditional textiles workshop and Ollantaytambo fortress.

Day 5

Machu Picchu

Transfer to Ollanta train station. Morning vistadome train to Machu Picchu. Afternoon visit Machu Picchu.

Lodging: Sanctuary Lodge

Days 6 - 7

Machu Picchu / Cusco

Spend the morning wandering the ancient ruins. Afternoon return to Cusco by vistadome train. The following day explore Cusco and the surrounding ruins of Kenko, the ceremonial bath of Tambomachay and the amazing fortress of Sachsayhuaman.

Day 8

International Flights Home

Commercial flight to Lima. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your day room before a return transfer to the Lima airport for your international flight home.
