Jao Reserve and the Okavango Delta, Botswana

Fly to the Jao Reserve in the Okavango Delta. A pristine floodplain and river system in the Kalahari Desert, the Okavango Delta is Africa's largest oasis. This wildlife rich area offers some of the very best big game viewing anywhere on the continent. Tubu Tree Camp camp is built on a large island called Hunda that has diverse vegetation ranging from dry Kalahari sandveld, through mopane forest and riverine forest on the edge of permanent waterways and floodplains. This variety of habitats ensures diverse and interesting game viewing. Photograph buffalos, elephants, lions, leopards, zebras, cheetahs, and herds of giraffes. Mokoro trips, in the traditional dugout canoe of the region, will also open your eyes to the lagoons of the Okavango. Tubu Tree Camp is a traditional style tented safari camp built on raised wooden platforms to take best advantage of the beautiful view over the floodplains. The camp accommodates guests in five large, comfortable tents, each with a small, private deck in front.
