India and the Himalayas

Set between the Kunlun mountains and the Himalayas, the Indian region of Ladakh is famed for its remote alpine beauty and ancient culture. What "Little Tibet" lacks in population and rainfall, it more than makes up for in altitude - much of it over 9,800 feet. Trek through villages, meet the people and visit Buddhist monasteries and medieval temples.
To add an Indian wildlife safari component to your Ladakh trip, consider a trip extension to Kanha Tiger Reserve.
