Today arrive into Entebbe International Airport and transfer by road to Kibale Forest National Park and check in to your lodge.
This tropical rain forest is the natural habitat for 12 primate species and contains the highest primate density of any area on earth. Take a guided forest walk where you may find chimpanzees and red colubus monkeys.
Continue south to Ishasha in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Ishasha is a more remote part of Queen Elizabeth National Park, but one which has a sense of exclusivity. There is prolific plains game and this means that predators are in attendance. Spotted hyena and leopard are occasionally sighted. The prime attraction for Ishasha is its large lion population and the frequency of the sighting is higher here than anywhere else in Uganda. Look skyward to see lions up trees escaping the mid-day heat.
Enjoy a morning game drive before an afternoon flight to Entebbe. Relax in day rooms before a late evening flight to Kigali, Rwanda.
Travel north to Ruhengeri and the Volcanoes National Park. This afternoon enjoy a visit to a local village and learn about Rwandan history and culture.
Today you have the option of a day of rest, do some local hiking, visit another local village, trek to see the golden monkeys or even an additional gorilla track.
The grand finale of your trip - a rare encounter with the mountain gorilla. Today's activities may be amongst the most challenging you have undertaken. The gorillas in Rwanda are part of a worldwide population of just 720 individuals. The gorillas we are allowed to track belong to either one of seven habituated family groups. The gorillas are not tame, and are completely wild animals. However, experienced guides will accompany us on our tracking, many of who have been involved in the habituation process themselves. After your track, transfer to your overnight accommodation in Kigali.
If time allows, this morning we will do a city tour before your international flight home.
