Take a safari in some of eastern Africa's most famed wildlife destinations: the Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park before heading to Kenya's Masai Mara, home to Kenya's largest predator population. Begin in Lake Manyara National Park where you can see tree-climbing lions, elephants and huge troops of baboons. Next stop is the legendary and breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater where the wildlife abounds followed by the Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti hosts the largest concentration of wildlife in the world, and is home to one of the great wonders in the world, the Great Migration. Your final visit will be in Kenya and the inspiring natural scenery of the heart of Africa's Great Plains, the Masai Mara and its unspoilt wilderness. The views across the rolling golden grasslands studded with acacia trees, rivers and forests are dazzling, the sense of space overwhelming.

Itinerary

Day 1

Arusha, Tanzania

Today, arrive into Kilimanjaro, Tanzania off your international flights. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your lodge for overnight.

Lodging: Arusha Coffee Lodge

Day 2

Lake Manyara National Park, Tanzania

Today, drive to Lake Manyara for a game drive and picnic lunch before arriving at your lodge. Gibb's Farm has evolved into a charming lodge that has retained the atmosphere of a working farm and the mystique of an era. In its exotic location on the outer slopes of an extinct volcano, it commands huge views of the surrounding farmlands, while in its backyard, the forested slopes are home to an abundance of wildlife, including elephant and leopard.

Day 3

Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Tanzania

Today take a full day Ngorongoro Crater safari. Often described as the "Eighth" Wonder of the World, the Ngorongoro Crater is a volcanic crater of over 259 square kilometers (100 square miles) with surrounding walls rising 609 meters (1,998 feet) above it. The Ngorongoro Crater is a natural sanctuary for over 25,000 animals, including the black rhino. It is also a conservation area inhabited by the Maasai tribe.

Days 4 - 6

Serengeti National Park, Tanzania

This morning you will be transferred to Manyara Airport for your scheduled flight to the Serengeti National Park. On arrival you will be met and drive transferred to your Serengeti Safari Camp, where experienced guides will take you on game drives. The Serengeti ecosystem has a vast array of amazing habitats, ranging from open grassland plants to acacia strewn savannas and rocky outcrops. It sustains more than thirty species of large herbivores and over five hundred varieties of birds. Stay in an intimate tented camp with ensuite bathrooms and attentive staff.

Day 7

Masai Mara National Park, Kenya

This morning you will be returned to the airstrip for a scheduled flight to Tarime, Tanzania. On arrival you will be transferred by road to Migori, Kenya to connect with another scheduled charter flight to the Masai Mara National Park in Kenya. On arrival in Kenya you will be met and transferred to your small tented camp set arround a watering hole teeming with both birds and wildlife, and offering guests constant wildlife sightings from comfortable verandahs.

Lodging: Little Governors' Camp

Days 8 - 9

Masai Mara National Park, Kenya

Enjoy morning and afternoon Masai Mara safaris. Set out by four-wheel drive vehicle into the Mara, filled with Kenya's largest predator population. Lions are common, and prides of up to 20 or 30 animals can be seen, often under the baleful supervision of a large, black-maned patriarch. Cheetahs are also numerous and the Mara is probably the best place for sighting leopards under natural conditions though this predator is rare. Other game commonly seen include buffalo, rhinoceros, elephant, silver-backed jackals, hippo, crocodile, cheetah, wildebeest, hartebeest, impala, zebra, roan antelope and gazelle.

Day 10

Depart

Today you will fly by scheduled flight to Wilson Airport in Nairobi, Kenya. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your international flights home.
