6 Day Alaska Sea Safari - From: $5,050

- Aboard the Sumdum

Bushtracks Alaska aboard the Sumdum

Get far away from the crowds and cruise ships, and into authentic Alaskan wilderness aboard the Sumdum, an 80-foot yacht which becomes your private lodge and accommodates up to eight guests in four cabins.

Each expedition launches from Ketchikan, Alaska and explores the Misty Fjords National Monument, an unspoiled coastal ecosystem including fjords, steep sea cliffs, active glaciers and natural canals. This pristine marine system is also bursting with wildlife including porpoises, whales, bears, bald eagles, moose, shoals of salmon and much more.

Your adventure yacht is also outfitted with zodiacs, sea kayaks, crab pots and fishing rods, and a local Alaskan crew who know the best local spots, so you can be assured of fresh seafood and an active adventure tailored to your own pace and interests. In addition to exploring by zodiac and kayak, you'll also anchor in secluded bays to explore remote beaches and hike through forests to discover alpine meadows.

Other charter routes are also available such as Ketchikan to Juneau or Ketchikan to Sitka, and can be customized according to your preferences.

Days 2 - 5

Cruising aboard the Sumdum

5 day and 4 night charter and cruising aboard the Sumdum.

Each day you'll wake up in a different cove, often the only boat surrounded by silence, calm green waters, and sheer cliffs streaked with ice and white waterfalls. Then launch kayaks onto a pond-like sea and search for bald eagles and bears that can be found digging for clams near the water's edge.

After kayaking and breakfast it's time to catch lunch, and pull the crab and shrimp pots from the seabed. Then take a short cruise to the Captain's secret salmon or halibut fishing spot.

After lunch and a siesta, the zodiac might zip you to a trailhead for a 2 or 3 hour hike through pure temperate rain forest in search of roaring waterfalls, meadows, and serene alpine lakes where you can rest and enjoy the scenery, or fly-fish for rainbow trout.
