Walking Safari in Botswana & Zimbabwe
A Walking and Canoeing Safari in Botswana and Zimbabwe
Inspired by the traditional safaris that Bushtracks’ founder, David Tett, experienced in his youth in Zimbabwe, this safari features guided walking safaris and stays in mobile tented safari camps to immerse you in some of the most stunning, off-the-beaten path locations Southern Africa has to offer. The entire safari is inspired by the experience at Mana Tented Camp, set in a very open, riverine habitat in Mana Pools, Zimbabwe which lends itself to walking safaris like no other destination in Africa. This beautiful savannah has lots of acacia albida trees which attract numerous bull elephants that love to feed on them along the Zambezi river banks. Accompanied by a "Zim Pro Guide" - a highly trained walking guide who often knows the individual elephants and their personalities - you can approach these elephants and get up close, which is a magical experience. The safari begins in Botswana in a traditional Selinda Explorers tented camp in the Selinda and Linyanti concessions near the Okavango Delta. This pristine setting, characterized by networked channels of water, is home to huge herds of elephants and buffalo, lion, wild dog, sable and roan antelope. Enjoy canoeing on the Selinda spillway as well as walks, game drives, and night drives. Next visit Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe enjoying the majestic falls, and activities like whitewater rafting that define Africa’s adventure capital. In Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe's flagship reserve, discover Little Makololo - a permanent tented camp overlooking a waterhole in one of the best game viewing areas. This is a great place to spot elephants, big cats, herds of antelope, and enjoy some exciting walking safaris in the morning with a Zim Pro Guide, as well as game drives and night drives. This big game walking safari ends in Mana Pools with another fabulous on-foot safari experience, up close to bull elephants, with the giant Zambezi river flowing along its northern border, and the blue Zambezi escarpment as a beautiful backdrop. It does not get any better than this.
