Mozambique has the longest coastline of any African country stretching from Tanzania down to South Africa. Its coastline is rich is coral and marine life, making it a wonderful diving, snorkeling, and fishing destination. In the 50's the Gorongoza National Park was known as Africa's flagship National Park with great concentrations of the Big Five including black rhino. But during the 70's and 80's, civil war decimated the populations. They are now coming back due to the Gorongosa Restoration Project and the Carr Foundation. In the North lies Niassa National Reserve, a very scenic park with herds of elephant, sable antelope, lion, and wild dog.
