      The Residence

      Palm Trees and White Sand

Opened in April 2011, the Residence Zanzibar is a stunning tribute not only to contemporary style, but also to the island’s African, Omani and European heritage. The resort is tucked away amid 80 acres of palm-tree forests overlooking a mile-long white sand beach. In order to explore the extensive gardens, bicycles or a buggy with driver are provided for you to roam the property. All 66 villas are luxuriously appointed with contemporary, stylish furniture and feature satellite TV, CD/DVD player in the living room, mini bar, direct dial telephone, hairdryer, mosquito nets, personal safe, tea and coffee making facilities, broadband internet access, air conditioning and overhead fans in the living room and bedrooms. A gastronomic journey is enjoyed in the two restaurants or in the intimacy of your villa. The Dining Room offers international dishes with a hint of Zanzibar “spice.” The Pavilion Restaurant showcases the best of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine. Located just 55 minutes from the airport and the capital Stone Town, the Residence Zanzibar lies on a mile-long powdery white sand beach, flanked by coconut palm trees and the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. The hotel features a glass-walled swimming pool overlooking the ocean, an air-conditioned fitness center and flood-lit tennis court. Dependent upon the tides, complimentary non-motorized watersports are available from the boat house, which draws its inspiration from a traditional dhow, or directly from the jetty.
