      Ol Seki Mara Camp

"Blessed" Camp of the Big Five

Ol Seki Mara Camp is located within the Naboisho Conservancy which borders the Masai Mara. With no fences to inhibit the migration of animals, you should see the Big Five and all the other indigenous animals on your checklist right here, sometimes within five minutes of the camp. Only vehicles from nearby properties are allowed in the conservancy, so you see wildlife, not minibuses. The view from the camp is spectacular; the Mara is mostly flat plains The camp is named after the Ol Seki tree (known in English as the sandpaper tree) which in Ma, the local Maasai language, means “blessed”. It’s a peace tree and the branches are used to settle disputes. This is apt because the creation of Naboisho, which means “coming together,” has brought peace between agriculture and wildlife in the conservancy and has helped to forge a harmonious relationship between the local Masai and tourist enterprises in the area. The camp is small and exclusive which means it can host a maximum of 20 guests. There are eight stylish tents, each one expertly designed to offer secluded privacy and spacious accommodation in safari-chic muted tones of vanilla and taupe. Every tent sits on a private vantage point up on the rocky escarpment so you have a 270-degree view of the bush from your bed. There are six domed Nina tents and two expansive suites - Simba and Chui. Hot running water blasting through rain-showerheads and dainty flush loos are a feature of every en-suite bathroom. These low-impact structures are camouflaged by the landscape and are fashioned for sustainability - they include ingenious features that promote conservation and minimize waste.
