      Mnemba Island Lodge

      A Blissful Piece of Heaven

A tropical island paradise in every sense of the word, Mnemba Island is a blissful piece of heaven situated just off the northern tip of Zanzibar, surrounded by the crisp blue waters of the Indian Ocean. Here the simplest of pleasures turn into magical luxuries where the finer things in life are the sounds of gentle waves lapping the coral pearly white sands so fine along the shoreline, miles of ocean to gaze across while it changes shades of blue, green and turquoise as the sun emits dancing rays over its glistening surface, and the blissful quiet enabling you to enjoy paradise just as you please. Along meandering pathways and stretches of fine beach sand granules, 10 spacious bandas dot the coastline of the magical Mnemba Island, Zanzibar. As you wander up to your very own exclusive and privately designed banda tucked in the foliage of the surrounding wooded forest and facing the gently rolling waves of the Indian Ocean, a sense of utter bliss is sure to take your breath away. Rinse your sand-soaked toes in the foot basin at the entrance to your island haven and step into the spacious rustic luxury that is Mnemba Island Lodge. Each banda is built of indigenous materials, mostly woven and thatched with palm leaves. The bandas have en-suite bathrooms with shower, double-basins, separate w.c., fresh water (obtained from a desalination plant), ceiling fans, personal bar and a spacious outdoor veranda. Each banda also has a private beach sala with traditional Zanzibari sunbeds. The dining area is adjacent to the sitting room/bar. There is a small library with a selection of books, games and magazines. Guest areas are all open-sided, cooled by sea breezes, informal and relaxed. Fresh fish and seafood are served at lunch and dinner. Weather permitting; dinner is always served on the beach. Guests enjoy swimming, walking, snorkeling, windsurfing, kayaking, fly-fishing and scuba diving (if in possession of a valid diving certificate - maximum 2 dives per day). A variety of diving courses and deep-sea fishing is available at an additional charge. All scuba and snorkeling equipment is provided.
