      Lion Sands Narina Lodge

A Luxurious "Treehouse" Lodge for Your Sabi Sand Safari

Lion Sands Private Game Reserve is located in the finest territory of the world-famous Sabi Sand Game Reserve, South Africa. Forming part of the greater Kruger National Park, the reserve has no fences and the wildlife is able to traverse freely between Lion Sands and the Kruger National Park. Perched among a canopy of 100-year-old trees overlooking the Sabie River, the style of Narina is that of a luxurious treehouse, where the main areas link to the 9 private suites via raised wooden walkways. The thick green foliage beneath the overhanging roof of trees has a particular sound to it. Each suite affords complete privacy, and whether you choose to spend time at your private plunge pool overlooking the river, reclining on the couch in your lounge, lazing on your bed with a good book, or soaking in a bubble bath, you will not be cheated of the breathtaking panorama. Activities included in the rate are morning and evening game drives in open safari vehicles, bush walks, bird watching, stargazing, bush breakfasts, bush dinners, river walks, hippo tours, safari lunches, wildlife lectures, boma dinners. Activities available at an additional cost include: hot air balloon rides, clay pigeon shooting, golf, spa treatments, helicopter excursions, and cultural visits to local villages. As Lion Sands is a private game reserve within the Sabi Sand Reserve, and in a private concession within the Kruger National Park, safaris are not confined to main roads. The field guides are able to navigate through dense bush, following the tracks of animals. With a limited number of vehicles on each property, and strict criteria governing sightings, guests are able to spend extended periods of time watching wildlife in its natural habitat. Guests can also enjoy a guided walking safari. For an additional charge you may book a night in one of three Treehouses on the Lion Sands Reserve. All of the Treehouses are securely constructed above the ground, where animals will remain at a safe and comfortable distance. Arrive at sunset to a scrumptious picnic dinner, and spend the hours of dusk fully appreciating the vastness of the bushveld as it transforms from day to night. Slumber directly beneath the Milky Way where you may well lose count of the shooting stars. A field guide will provide a full orientation upon guests’ arrival and will remain on-call via radio until the following morning.
