Lewa House
Not Your Average House in the Hills
Situated on the northern foothills of Mt. Kenya, Lewa House is set on the 65,000-acre privately owned Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. Under the beautifully crafted sanje (thatch) roofs, Lewa House has been designed for a life of utmost comfort. The living room encompasses a large sitting area around a warm fireplace, and an ample dining area. Decorated in rustic wood, inviting designer furniture and African art, the house provides a perfect retreat after days filled with exhilarating activities. A short walk away from the living area are three cottages. Well-spaced in the African-style garden, each cottage has a double and twin bedroom. The rooms have wonderful views and each double room has a fireplace. Cottages have a private verandah where guests can sit to contemplate the stars before retiring at night. A large swimming pool overlooking the waterhole is also yours to enjoy at Lewa House. After an exciting day exploring Lewa, you can relax and enjoy the delicious meals designed by the award-winning chef. The lavish meals at Lewa House are based on creative recipes combining the best of international cuisine with local produce, much from their organic gardens. Activities available include game drives, guided game walks, horse riding, camel rides, visits to community projects and swimming. Activities available at an extra cost include Visits to Il’Ngwesi Village, and spa treatments with prior notice: massages, manicures and pedicures.
