      A Wildebeest Meeting Place

Kusini offers a Serengeti safari like no other. Every year wildebeest congregate on the camp's "doorstep" in this unspoiled and remote part of the Serengeti during the calving season. The camp itself is built on a raised kopje surrounded by woodland - providing stunning views of the plains below from the main deck. Zebra, Cape buffalo, lions and cheetahs are a common sight year-round. The twelve tents at Sanctuary Kusini are shaded from the sun by acacia trees, and all are positioned carefully with thought out views of the surrounding plains. Each tent has its own personal attendant to look after guests during their stay. The private wooden verandah with comfortable furniture is the ideal spot to relax for a sundowner after a hot restorative shower. The camp uses inverted electrical energy. The communal tent has a library, sitting room, dining room and verandah. Bush breakfasts and sundowners are served on the giant boulders of the kopje overlooking the endless plains for which the Serengeti is so famed. The park, and the area around Sanctuary Kusini in particular, is noted for its lion and cheetah populations and excellent leopard sightings. The nearby Moru Kopjes are also renowned for good resident game, particularly cats, all year round. The woodland area fringing the short grass plains where Sanctuary Kusini is located also has high sightings of resident game including rarer species such as klipspringer in addition to some incredible bird-life. The famous wildebeest migration is usually present in the area during the earlier months of the year. One of the highlights is the calving season which is usually between January and March and sees the arrival of newborn zebra and wildebeest calves. Enjoy thrilling guided game drives lead by highly qualified professional guides in customized open 4 x 4 game viewing vehicles. Game drives are conducted early morning and late afternoon. There are also full-day game drives and a bush lunch can be enjoyed.
