      Islands of Siankaba

Surrounded by the Great Zambezi River

Livingstone, Zambia is renowned for the impressive Victoria Falls. Over one mile wide, Victoria Falls is the most expansive curtain of water in the world and drops more than 328 feet into the sheer Zambezi Gorge. Located in the south-west corner of Zambia, these falls and the Zambezi River are the central points in an area of spectacular scenic beauty. The Islands of Siankaba Lodge is a luxurious five-star forested retreat. Siankaba’s seven secluded chalets, each with its unique and individually different view of the mighty Zambezi River, are linked by a suspended foot bridge to a haute cuisine restaurant. All of this is located on two islands in the middle of the mighty Zambezi River situated between the “Seventh Wonder of the Natural World”, the magnificent Victoria Falls and the world-famous Chobe National Park. Each of the seven chalets at Siankaba is beautifully furnished, offering understated luxury, and peaceful seclusion. The rooms are raised six to nine feet from the ground and have their own private balconies, overlooking the Zambezi. In contrast to the half-canvas walls and roof, the interior of accommodation boasts polished teak furniture sits on polished teak floors, offset by thick oriental rugs. There are comfortable beds with an integral ceiling fan, and mosquito nets are hung like four-poster curtains. Good reading lights complement the otherwise subdued lighting. Each room has its own mini-fridge and safe tucked discreetly away in the corner. The en-suite bathroom is set on a platform to the rear of the chalet, complete with regal claw-footed bathtub and twin pedestal china basins, as well as a frosted-glass modern shower and separate toilet. A host of exciting activities are available both at the lodge and in Livingstone. Activities such as: Victoria Falls tour, sunset cruise, village and school tour, and hiking along the nature trails are all included with the accommodation. Additional activities are available at a supplemental cost. Please see information regarding Victoria Falls activities at the end of your descriptive itinerary.
