      Elephant Pepper Camp

An Elegant, Tented Safari Camp in the Heart of the Masai Mara

The Masai Mara is a vast wilderness abundant with a diverse range of fascinating wildlife, rolling plains, and lush forests. Located in the Mara North Conservancy, the heart of the Masai Mara ecosystem, Elephant Pepper Camp is the perfect base from which to explore the wonders of the Mara. The camp’s remote location allows the stars to shine bright at night, undimmed by harsh lighting; guests enjoy the unique experience of listening to the sounds of lions, leopards and hyenas foraging and hunting, while enjoying traditional and modern comforts such as a campfire and cozy duvets. The eight luxury safari tents are large, bright and offer a spacious bathroom area. Combining Indian Raj Campaign furniture and mixing dark wood with intricate brass fittings, the tents have an elegant feel. The tents are set underneath a grove of fig and elephant pepper trees and are spaced apart to ensure privacy. There is running water throughout camp including the showers. All tents can fit one extra bed, to accommodate children under the age of 16 years. Family tents are also available. Elephant Pepper Camp’s cuisine includes a mouth-watering combination of homemade pastas, traditional Italian recipes and fresh organic salads. One of the joys of being on safari is to eat together and share your daily adventures with other guests. Communal dining is the normal practice at Elephant Pepper Camp, although private, romantic dinners can also be arranged on request. The Elephant Pepper Camp guides are based in camp, in the Masai Mara, and know their backyard intimately. Elephant Pepper Camp has open game drive vehicles. The vehicles are open-sided with three rows of seats, photographic equipment stands, and charging sockets. Take the time to leave the car behind and enjoy the small things – animal tracks, flowers and micro-ecosystems on a guided game walk. A visit to a local village is a chance to interact with the Maasai people, their way of life, and purchase traditional handicrafts.
