      Chobe Game Lodge

One of Botwana's Most Exclusive Safari Resorts

Chobe Game Lodge is one of Botswana’s most exclusive Safari resorts. A Moorish-style game lodge located on the banks of the Chobe River, Chobe Game Lodge is situated in the northern extremity of Chobe National Park, approximately 90km (55.9 miles) west of Victoria Falls. The Chobe National Park’s wildlife roams in profusion and diversity. The elephant population, estimated at 30,000 is the largest single concentration in Africa. Chobe National Park covers 11,700 sq km (7,266 sq miles) of pristine wilderness, ranging from the verdant flood grassland and thickets beside the Chobe River, to forest, woodland and scrub. During the harsh season the herds migrate south to north and congregate along the fertile flood plains of perennial Chobe River. Other major species such as lion, white rhino, wild dog, sable and roan antelope are encountered in many areas of the reserve. Chobe Game Lodge has 47 guest rooms overlooking the perennial Chobe River and Caprivi floodplains, each tastefully decorated with hand-crafted Rhodesian teak furniture and original African carvings and paintings. All rooms have their own private terrace/balcony, air-conditioners, en-suite bathrooms and complimentary, stocked mini-bars. The lodge also has four suites each with their own private pool, sundeck and separate lounge area. The common areas of this accommodation include: a well-stocked curio shop, wildlife reference library, stylish Tshwene bar with full-size Victorian pool tables, swimming pool, volleyball and squash courts, and a health and beauty salon. The lodge’s boma (a reed enclosed outdoor eating area) is situated under large mahogany trees on the banks of the Chobe River. The restaurants at the lodge offer a range of international and local dishes, all with an African flavor. Chobe Game Lodge game drives are conducted in open sided 4X4 vehicles ensuring maximum visibility, while game viewing and sunset cruises on the Chobe River are conducted by small, shallow draft and highly maneuverable boats piloted by expert boatmen. Your resident professional guides offer slide shows, star-gazing presentations, garden and river walks as well as walking safaris in the nearby forests of Kasane. Due to the close proximity to Victoria Falls, there are numerous activities available at an additional cost. However, it is suggested that these activities be booked prior to your arrival at Chobe Game Lodge. Fishing excursions, day trips to Victoria Falls, bungee jumping, river rafting, shopping, touring the Falls, elephant-back riding and more are on offer.
